As the 1st shipment contains products for only 40% of German backers, there will be an algorithm that will select who gets the rewards from the 1st shipment. I will use your BackerKit pledge number, and calculate the distance from the nearest prime number. The bigger distance, the greater chance that your order is part of the 2nd shipment.
After 2022-02-02 you will be able to use this page to see if your order is part of the 1st or the 2nd shipment: https://machinaarcana.com/check-me.html
Products for UK backers are part of the 1st EU shipment, and will be DDP shipped.
Products for Canadian backers are part of the US shipment.

A not so happy update

US shipment
The US shipment is being handled by the company that closely works with my US publisher. I received this email from that shipping company a couple of days ago:
"Good evening Juraj,
I have some bad news to share on this shipment. The entire lot of cargo has not yet departed from the factory in China. The intention was to move part LCL and part in a 40HC. Unfortunately, the 40HC portion of the shipment was never exported from China. At the time our agent was unable to find FCL space and due to a mixup on my side a follow up request was not sent to them. We are working to get this moving as soon as possible and I hope to have booking details sometime this week. Will keep you posted as updates come along."
This left me speechless, and I am yet to even write him a reply.
I did however briefly exchange a few messages with the US publisher who assures me that the shipment should arrive at the very beginning of February.
EU shipment
I received an email from the factory (the same day as the US shipper) that there are a number of German boxes (Core and Expansions) that are also yet to depart the factory.
This is the vessel that holds (most of) our EU cargo on its way to port in Hamburg:
Based on all the information I expect that these two hubs will start with the distribution at the beginning of January 2022.
Aleksandra and myself have been struck with covid last week, and even though I hope that the worst is behind us, it will take us some time to recover.
This all seems so unreal. So many setbacks, things out of my control, things that seems like curses. I feel that some kind of evil forces are clasping at my breath.
I am really tired.

Production status
The WinGo factory completed the production on the 15th of September.
Afterwards, for the final quality assurance I sent each production box to my language partners. There was some delay with their response, but thankfully everyone signed off their respective language version!
As I was in the process of preparing the splits for each distribution hub, signing off packing lists, and communicating with the logistics companies, there was a whisper from Her. A whisper I couldn't ignore..
Plastic tray inserts
Plastic tray inserts from my production boxes were often received with some damage. I did raise this issue with WinGo multiple times, but they assured me this happened only during transport, and that I shouldn't worry about it.
After receiving the feedback from my language partners - the recurring issue persisted. Their plastic trays were also damaged during the transport.
What could I do at this point?
Everything is already produced, shrinkwrapped, and ready for shipping!
I talked with WinGo, and demanded solutions.
They presented their plan, and started to execute it, 9 days ago:
unshrink ALL the Core boxes
fortify the biggest plastic tray with 4 cardboard pieces
add the plastic foam to reduce the empty space inside the box
I won't share the exact number of Core boxes produced, but you can presume that this process is extraordinarily time consuming, and .. expensive. Thankfully I reached a deal with WinGo to split the costs, and regarding time: it will be completed in 2 days!
Will this fix the issue? I really don't know. I do know that I have made everything humanely possible to give to you, my dear community, the best possible experience of Machina Arcana.
You might notice that the person in the video placed two transparent plastic stands into the Core box. Marek from Galakta raised an issue with his "To Eternity" production box. There were 6 plastic stands inside, but based on the back of the box there should be 8 of them.
A very minor issue, but hey, why not use this opportunity to strive towards perfection?
Next step: loading the containers
The last message from the factory was received 5 hours ago.
They are now booking the containers, and waiting for the local agent to release the shipping orders!
I am aware that some of you might be impatient, even anxious.
"Where is my box?"
I can assure you that there's nobody more craving for the finish line than myself.
"Soon?" - I ask, trembling in a corner.
"Soon." - She gently whispers.

Production completes on 15th September

The Chinese factory updated their estimate for the completion of production: 15th of September.
Their justification for this delay is as follows:
"Believe me that MA is always in first priority of our production, we never interrupt the production since we released it by end of May/early Jun, but there are too many reasons such as machine down, keep losing labor s because of covid, staggered power consumption...etc. to hang up our process, and actually we're producing 22 different items for this mighty project, there are more than 210,000 different card decks to be produced, we cannot complete them in parallel otherwise it will be risky to mess up different versions"
A couple of hours ago we had a video call. I am sharing with you the part where they walked through the factory to shows us the current state of production.
Codex Arcanum / Codex Aeternum
I am happy to announce that the books are produced and en route to their respective depots!

Production boxes have arrived

Yesterday we received the EN production boxes (Core, From Beyond expansion, To Eternity expansion):
Production boxes of other languages will be sent to their respected publishers.
Based on the last correspondence with our factories the production is almost complete (end of July).
Codex Arcanum / Codex Aeternum
Standart Impressa (Lithuania) is producing our books (Codex Arcanum, Codex Aeternum).
They responded yesterday with a number of pictures, and with:
"I think it will be finished very soon because I found a sewn book blocks next to the binding machine."
Game Mats
Treetato (China) has already produced your Game Mats, which are packed and ready for shipment to distribution centers.
EU backers
EU VAT (and OSS) laws that were introduced on the 1st of July 2021 could potentially introduce delays with the import process.
There's no need for concern about increased costs, as VAT import costs are calculated and accounted for. The question is more from a legal standpoint, and as such it will be swiftly and optimally resolved.
